GENERAL INFORMATION

The most common trips are 4 to 6 hours. For the average family looking to have fun, a 4 or 5 hour trip is plenty. However, sometimes depending on the fish you may want to catch, a longer trip is necessary.

On the Gullah Gal we typically fish between 1 mile and 10 miles off shore depending on the length of your trip.

Hilton Head's waters are usually very calm and customers rarely get even a splash. Even if the seas are rough (over 3 feet) we'll either stay close to shore or reschedule your trip for another day. No problem!

Fishing on the Gullah Gal is a very family-friendly experience. Our goal is for your group to have a fun time and to create some wonderful memories.

The "GULLAH" Name
The Gullah people are African Americans who live in the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia and whose ancestors were originally brought to America as slaves. The name "Gullah" is believed to be a derivation of the word "Angola" the country in Africa from which many slaves were taken. Angolans were know for their farming skills. The Gullah culture is still strong on Hilton Head and the surrounding barrier islands today.
